Data SheetMSDS

Malaria Pv. MSP1 Recombinant Protein

Name:Malaria Pv. MSP1
Introduction:Plasmodium falciparum is a protozoan parasite, one of the species of Plasmodium that cause malaria. Malaria parasites are members of the Apicomplexa. Apicomplexa are characterized by a set of organelles found in some stages of the parasite’s life cycle. These organelles, collectively known as apical organelles because of their localization at one end of the parasite, are involved in interactions between the parasite and host. In particular, the apical organelles have been implicated in the process of host cell invasion. In the case of Plasmodium, three distinct invasive forms have been identified: sporozoite, merozoite, and ookinete.
Description:Merozoite surface antigen is a protein located on the outside of the merozoite, playingan imperative role in immune reaction. About 45% cases of malaria are infected by Plasmodium vivax (Pv). Pv. MSP1 has to be used with Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) together for ELISA and rapid diagnostic test, Plasmodium falciparum and vivax infection takes about 95% of Plasmodium caused infection.Recombinant Malaria Vivax MSP1 produced in E.coli and fused to a His tagwas purified by proprietary chromatographic technique.
