The MonoMethyl-Histone H2B-K5 Antibody (CAB17552) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, possesses high specificity and sensitivity for detecting the monomethylated form of Histone H2B at lysine 5 in human samples.Histone modifications, such as monomethylation of H2B K5, play a crucial role in gene expression regulation and chromatin structure dynamics. The CAB17552 antibody enables precise detection and analysis of this specific histone modification, allowing researchers to investigate its impact on cellular processes and potential involvement in diseases like cancer and developmental disorders.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat, Other (Wide Range Predicted) samples.

Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units, called nucleosomes. The linker histone, H1, interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in the compaction of chromatin into higher order structures. This gene encodes a replication-dependent histone that is a member of the histone H2B family, and generates two transcripts through the use of the conserved stem-loop termination motif, and the polyA addition motif. The protein has antibacterial and antifungal antimicrobial activity.
