Acinetobacter baumannii Omp38 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala216-Gln356, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Outer membrane protein Omp38 is a ~38 kDa protein. Induces apoptosis in human cell lines through caspase-dependent and AIF-dependent pathways. Purified Omp38 enters host cell and localizes to the mitochondria, which presumably leads to a release of proapoptotic molecules such as cytochrome c and AIF (apoptosis-inducing factor). Binds peptidoglycan, contributes to cell wall maintenance (Probable).
