Description

AEA ELISA Kit

AEA ELISA kits are used to detect Anandamide (AEA) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. Anandamide (AEA), or N-arachidonoylethanolamine, is an endogenous cannabinoid first isolated from brain and named after the Sanskrit word for bliss. It is synthesised on demand from the membrane phospholipid N-arachidonoyl phosphatidylethanolamine, mainly through NAPE-PLD, and is broken down chiefly by fatty acid amide hydrolase into arachidonic acid and ethanolamine. AEA acts as a partial agonist at the CB1 receptor and as an agonist at TRPV1 channels, and it takes part in regulating pain, mood, appetite, memory and reproductive functions, including embryo implantation. Altered AEA levels have been associated with anxiety, obesity, inflammation and neurological conditions, so it is widely studied in endocannabinoid and neuroscience research.
