Anti-E.coli lexA/LexA repressor Recombinant Nanobody (SAA1458) is a recombinant nanobody targeting E.coli lexA/LexA repressor (clone SAA1458). Format: VHH-8His-Cys-tag (alpaca host). Reactivity: Escherichia coli M056. Supplied as a liquid in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4. Applications: ELISA. Purity: >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. For research use only.
LexA repressor is a ~22 kDa protein. Represses a number of genes involved in the response to DNA damage (SOS response), including recA and lexA. Binds to the 16 bp palindromic sequence 5'-CTGTATATATATACAG-3'. In the presence of single-stranded DNA, RecA interacts with LexA causing an autocatalytic cleavage which disrupts the DNA-binding part of LexA, leading to derepression of the SOS regulon and eventually DNA repair.
