Description

Arg ELISA Kit

Arg ELISA kits are used to detect Arginine (Arg) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. Arginine is a basic, proteinogenic amino acid that is considered conditionally essential, since the body can synthesise it through the urea cycle and kidney pathways but requirements may exceed supply during growth, stress or illness. It is a component of proteins and a precursor for several important molecules, including nitric oxide, produced by nitric oxide synthase, as well as urea, ornithine, creatine, agmatine and polyamines. Through nitric oxide, arginine contributes to vasodilation and endothelial function, and it also supports immune cell function and wound healing. Altered arginine availability has been associated with cardiovascular disease, sepsis, cancer and immune dysregulation, and it is studied in metabolism and nutrition research.
