Description

Chicken FGF9 ELISA Kit

Chicken FGF9 ELISA kits are used to detect Fibroblast Growth Factor 9 (FGF9) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. FGF9 is a secreted, heparin-binding member of the fibroblast growth factor family, originally purified from glioma cells as glia-activating factor. It plays an important role in embryonic development, cell proliferation, differentiation and migration, with roles in lung, testis, bone and heart development. In the nervous system it may contribute to glial cell growth and differentiation during development, to gliosis during repair and regeneration after brain damage, to the differentiation and survival of neuronal cells and to growth stimulation of glial tumours. FGF9 signals through FGF receptors, with a preference for the FGFR3 pathway. Variants have been associated with multiple synostoses syndrome, with progressive joint fusions, and altered expression has been linked to some cancers.
