E. coli tetR Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Gly206, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 30.61 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Tetracycline repressor protein class B from transposon Tn10 is a ~23 kDa protein. TetR is the repressor of the tetracycline resistance element; its N-terminal region forms a helix-turn-helix structure and binds DNA. For research use only.
Binding of tetracycline to TetR reduces the repressor affinity for the tetracycline resistance gene (tetA) promoter operator sites.
