Description

Horse IgG ELISA Kit

Horse IgG ELISA kits are used to detect Immunoglobulin G (IgG) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. IgG is immunoglobulin G, the most abundant antibody class in serum, accounting for roughly three-quarters of circulating immunoglobulin. It is made of two heavy and two light chains and is produced by plasma cells derived from B lymphocytes, with four subclasses that differ in effector function. IgG neutralises toxins and pathogens, opsonises microbes for phagocytosis, activates the classical complement pathway and, because it crosses the placenta, provides passive protection to the fetus. Low IgG levels are found in primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, whereas raised levels may occur in chronic infection, autoimmune disease and liver disease. Monoclonal increases are seen in multiple myeloma, and IgG4-related disease is characterised by elevated IgG4.
