Description

Human ACVR2A ELISA Kit

Human ACVR2A ELISA kits are used to detect Activin A Receptor Type II A (ACVR2A) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. ACVR2A, activin receptor type IIA, is a transmembrane serine/threonine kinase that serves as a receptor for activin A, activin B and inhibin A, and also for some other TGF-beta family members. After ligand binding, two type II receptors assemble with two type I receptors; the type II kinase phosphorylates and activates the type I receptor, which then phosphorylates SMAD transcriptional regulators and initiates gene expression changes. ACVR2A is widely expressed and helps regulate reproduction, bone, muscle and embryonic development, and it mediates the induction of adipogenesis by GDF6. Somatic mutations in ACVR2A are common in microsatellite-unstable colorectal and gastric cancers, so it is studied in endocrine and tumour biology.
