Description
Human AFAP1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human AFAP1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu346-Ile478, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 17.50 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Actin filament-associated protein 1 (AFAP1) is a ~80 kDa protein. Can cross-link actin filaments into both network and bundle structures. For research use only.
May modulate changes in actin filament integrity and induce lamellipodia formation. May function as an adapter molecule that links other proteins, such as SRC and PKC to the actin cytoskeleton. Seems to play a role in the development and progression of prostate adenocarcinoma by regulating cell-matrix adhesions and migration in the cancer cells.
