Description
Human AFMID Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human AFMID Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met18-Gln303, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 34.28 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Kynurenine formamidase (AFMID) is a ~33 kDa protein. Catalyzes the hydrolysis of N-formyl-L-kynurenine to L-kynurenine, the second step in the kynurenine pathway of tryptophan degradation. For research use only.
Kynurenine may be further oxidized to nicotinic acid, NAD(H) and NADP(H). Required for elimination of toxic metabolites.
