Human AFP Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Leu260-Val609, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 41.42 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is a ~68 kDa protein. Binds copper, nickel, and fatty acids as well as, and bilirubin less well than, serum albumin. For research use only.
Only a small percentage (less than 2%) of the human AFP shows estrogen-binding properties.
