Human Alpha-lactalbumin ELISA Kit

Alpha-lactalbumin is a major component of milk. The regulatory subunit of the lactose synthase (LS) heterodimer and beta 1,4-galactosyltransferase (beta4Gal-T1) are composed of alpha-lactalbumin. Milk-secreting cells, or lactocytes, use the enzyme alpha-lactalbumin to transfer galactose moieties to glucose. These proteins allow LS to make lactose by transferring galactose units to glucose as a monomer. Alpha-lactalbumin strongly binds calcium and zinc ions and has antibacterial activity. HAMLET, a folding variant of alpha-lactalbumin, is thought to cause apoptosis in tumor cells and immature cells. LALBA is associated with a variety of diseases, including Milk Allergy and Skin Papilloma. Glycosaminoglycan metabolism and Galactose metabolism are two pathways that are connected to LALBA.
