Description

Human AMH ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human AMH ELISA kits are used to detect Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. AMH, or anti-Mullerian hormone, is a glycoprotein of the transforming growth factor beta family produced by the gonads. In the male fetus it is secreted by Sertoli cells and induces regression of the Mullerian ducts, which would otherwise develop into the uterus and fallopian tubes. In females it is produced by granulosa cells of preantral and small antral follicles and acts through its type II receptor AMHR2 and SMAD signalling to restrain follicle recruitment. Because serum AMH correlates with the number of growing follicles, it is widely used as a marker of ovarian reserve. Levels tend to be high in polycystic ovary syndrome and low in diminished ovarian reserve.
