Description
Human ANGPT2/Ang2 Recombinant Protein (C-His)
Human ANGPT2/Ang2 Recombinant Protein (C-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in insect cells, spanning Glu277-Phe496, with a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 28.17 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Angiopoietin-2 (ANGPT2/ANG-2) is a ~56 kDa protein. Binds to TEK/TIE2, competing for the ANGPT1 binding site, and modulating ANGPT1 signaling. For research use only.
Can induce tyrosine phosphorylation of TEK/TIE2 in the absence of ANGPT1. In the absence of angiogenic inducers, such as VEGF, ANGPT2-mediated loosening of cell-matrix contacts may induce endothelial cell apoptosis with consequent vascular regression. In concert with VEGF, it may facilitate endothelial cell migration and proliferation, thus serving as a permissive angiogenic signal. Involved in the regulation of lymphangiogenesis.
