Human ATP citrate lyase / ACLY ELISA Kit

In many tissues, ATP citrate lyase is the major enzyme responsible for cytosolic acetyl-CoA production. ATP citrate lyase/ACLY is a tetramer of seemingly identical subunits with a relative molecular weight of roughly 440,000. It catalyses the conversion of citrate and CoA to acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate, as well as the conversion of ATP to ADP and phosphate. Acetyl-CoA is a key component of various metabolic processes, including lipogenesis and cholesterogenesis. ATP citrate-lyase may be involved in the production of acetylcholine in nerve tissue. Trichothiodystrophy 1, Photosensitive, and Trigonitis are all diseases linked to ACLY. Amino Acid Metabolism and Transcription Receptor-mediated HIF Regulation are two linked processes to ATP citrate lyase/ACLY.
