Description
Human BAD Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human BAD Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Gln168, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 20.55 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Bcl2-associated agonist of cell death (BAD) is a ~18 kDa protein. Promotes cell death. For research use only.
Successfully competes for the binding to Bcl-X(L), Bcl-2 and Bcl-W, thereby affecting the level of heterodimerization of these proteins with BAX. Can reverse the death repressor activity of Bcl-X(L), but not that of Bcl-2. Appears to act as a link between growth factor receptor signaling and the apoptotic pathways.
