Description

Human BST2 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human BST2 ELISA kits are used to detect Bone Marrow Stromal Cell Antigen 2 (BST2) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. BST2, also known as tetherin or CD317, is an interferon-induced antiviral host restriction factor that efficiently blocks the release of diverse enveloped viruses by directly tethering nascent virions to the membranes of infected cells. It acts as a physical tether that holds virions to the cell membrane and to each other, so tethered virions may be internalised and degraded or remain on the cell surface, restricting spread of cell-free virus. Its targets include HIV-1, Ebola, Lassa and KSHV. BST2, also the HM1.24 antigen, is highly expressed on plasma cells and plasmacytoid dendritic cells, and it is studied in antiviral immunity and myeloma.
