Description
Human BTF3 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human BTF3 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met50-Asn206, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 19.26 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Transcription factor BTF3 is a ~22 kDa protein. When associated with NACA, prevents inappropriate targeting of non-secretory polypeptides to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). For research use only.
Binds to nascent polypeptide chains as they emerge from the ribosome and blocks their interaction with the signal recognition particle (SRP), which normally targets nascent secretory peptides to the ER. BTF3 is also a general transcription factor that can form a stable complex with RNA polymerase II. Required for the initiation of transcription.
