Description
Human C4BPA Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human C4BPA Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Pro289-Leu597, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 37.2 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. C4b-binding protein alpha chain (C4BPA) is a ~67 kDa protein. Controls the classical pathway of complement activation. For research use only.
It binds as a cofactor to C3b/C4b inactivator (C3bINA), which then hydrolyzes the complement fragment C4b. It also accelerates the degradation of the C4bC2a complex (C3 convertase) by dissociating the complement fragment C2a. Alpha chain binds C4b. It also interacts with anticoagulant protein S and with serum amyloid P component.
