Human CBR3 Recombinant Protein (N-His)

Human CBR3 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Trp277, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 33.01 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Carbonyl reductase [NADPH] 3 (CBR3) is a ~30 kDa protein. Catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of carbonyl compounds to their corresponding alcohols. For research use only.

Has low NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase activity. Acts on several orthoquinones, acts as well on non-quinone compounds, such as isatin or on the anticancer drug oracin. Best substrates for CBR3 is 1,2- naphthoquinone, hence could play a role in protection against cytotoxicity of exogenous quinones. Exerts activity toward ortho-quinones but not paraquinones.
