Description

Human CCK25 ELISA Kit

Human CCK25 ELISA kits are used to detect Cholecystokinin 25 (CCK25) in serum, plasma, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. CCK25 is a molecular form of cholecystokinin, a peptide hormone and neurotransmitter, with 25 amino acids that is derived by proteolytic processing from a larger precursor and shares the amidated sulfated carboxy-terminal sequence that is needed for receptor activation. Cholecystokinin is produced by enteroendocrine I cells of the upper small intestine and by neurons in the brain and gut. It is released in response to dietary fat and protein, and it stimulates gallbladder contraction and pancreatic enzyme secretion, slows gastric emptying and promotes satiety through vagal afferent signalling, while in the brain it influences anxiety, memory and pain. Circulating levels have been studied in digestive and eating disorders.
