Description

Human CCKBR ELISA Kit

Human CCKBR ELISA kits are used to detect Cholecystokinin B Receptor (CCKBR) in tissue homogenates and other biological samples. CCKBR, the cholecystokinin B receptor, also called the CCK2 receptor or gastrin receptor, is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds the peptide hormones gastrin and cholecystokinin. It is expressed throughout the central nervous system, where it modulates anxiety, analgesia, arousal and neuroleptic activity, and it is also found in the stomach, where it contributes to the regulation of acid secretion. It couples to GNAI1 and GNAQ pathways but not GNAS, and gastrin activation can reduce glucose absorption in intestinal epithelial cells and kidney by lowering SGLT1, GLUT2 and SGLT2 expression. A constitutively active splice isoform may promote cancer cell proliferation independently of gastrin, and the receptor is studied in gastrointestinal tumours and anxiety research.
