Description

Human CD226 ELISA Kit

Human CD226 ELISA kits are used to detect Cluster Of Differentiation 226 (CD226) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. CD226, also called DNAM-1, is an immunoglobulin superfamily cell-surface receptor expressed on NK cells, T cells, monocytes and platelets that plays an important role in intercellular adhesion, lymphocyte signaling, cytotoxicity and cytokine secretion. It acts as a costimulatory receptor, and on binding its ligands PVR (CD155) or NECTIN2 (CD112) on virus-infected or tumor cells it promotes the cytotoxic activity of NK cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Phosphorylation by Src-family kinases enables binding of the adapter GRB2, leading to activation of VAV1, PI3K and PLCG1 as well as ERK, AKT and calcium signaling. CD226 competes with the inhibitory receptor TIGIT for the same ligands, so it is central to immune checkpoint research, and genetic variants have been associated with autoimmune diseases.
