Human CDS2 Recombinant Protein (N-His-SUMO)

Human CDS2 Recombinant Protein (N-His-SUMO) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser282-Ser339, with an N-terminal His-SUMO tag. Predicted molecular weight: 19.11 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Phosphatidate cytidylyltransferase 2 (CDS2) is a ~51 kDa protein. Catalyzes the conversion of phosphatidic acid (PA) to CDP-diacylglycerol (CDP-DAG), an essential intermediate in the synthesis of phosphatidylglycerol, cardiolipin and phosphatidylinositol. For research use only.

Exhibits specificity for the nature of the acyl chains at the sn-1 and sn-2 positions in the substrate, PA and the preferred acyl chain composition is 1-stearoyl-2-arachidonoyl-sn-phosphatidic acid. Plays an important role in regulating the growth and maturation of lipid droplets which are storage organelles at the center of lipid and energy homeostasis.
