Human CENPB Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser181-Gly392, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 24.67 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Major centromere autoantigen B (CENPB) is a ~65 kDa protein. Interacts with centromeric heterochromatin in chromosomes and binds to a specific 17 bp subset of alphoid satellite DNA, called the CENP-B box. For research use only.
May organize arrays of centromere satellite DNA into a higher-order structure which then directs centromere formation and kinetochore assembly in mammalian chromosomes (Probable).
