Description
Human CKAP5 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human CKAP5 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Ala198, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 24.63 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Cytoskeleton-associated protein 5 (CKAP5) is a ~225 kDa protein. Binds to the plus end of microtubules and regulates microtubule dynamics and microtubule organization. For research use only.
Acts as a processive microtubule polymerase. Promotes cytoplasmic microtubule nucleation and elongation. Plays a major role in organizing spindle poles. In spindle formation protects kinetochore microtubules from depolymerization by KIF2C and has an essential role in centrosomal microtubule assembly independently of KIF2C activity.
