Human CLPP Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Gly21-His247, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 27.32 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. ATP-dependent Clp protease proteolytic subunit, mitochondrial (CLPP) is a ~30 kDa protein. Protease component of the ClpXP complex that cleaves peptides and various proteins in an ATP-dependent process. For research use only.
Has low peptidase activity in the absence of CLPX. The ClpXP complex can degrade CSN1S1, CSN2 and CSN3, as well as synthetic peptides (in vitro) and may be responsible for a fairly general and central housekeeping function rather than for the degradation of specific substrates. Cleaves PINK1 in the mitochondrion.
