Description
Human COL8A1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human COL8A1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Pro575-Pro743, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 20.8 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Collagen alpha-1(VIII) chain (COL8A1) is a ~73 kDa protein. Macromolecular component of the subendothelium. For research use only.
Major component of the Descemet's membrane (basement membrane) of corneal endothelial cells. Also a component of the endothelia of blood vessels. Necessary for migration and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells and thus, has a potential role in the maintenance of vessel wall integrity and structure, in particular in atherogenesis.
