Description
Human CP Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human CP Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Asp789-Gly1065, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 34.00 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Ceruloplasmin (CP) is a ~122 kDa protein. Multifunctional blue, copper-binding (6-7 atoms per molecule) glycoprotein. For research use only.
It has ferroxidase activity oxidizing Fe(2+) to Fe(3+) without releasing radical oxygen species. It is involved in iron transport across the cell membrane. Copper ions provide a large number of enzymatic activites. Oxidizes highly toxic ferrous ions to the ferric state for further incorporation onto apo-transferrins, catalyzes Cu(+) oxidation and promotes the oxidation of biogenic amines such as norepinephrin and serotonin.
