Description

Human CTNNa1 ELISA Kit

Human CTNNa1 ELISA kits are used to detect Catenin Alpha 1 (CTNNa1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. CTNNa1, also known as alpha E-catenin, is a cytoplasmic protein that associates with the cytoplasmic domain of cadherins, including E- and N-cadherin. The cadherin-catenin complex is linked to the actin filament network and is of primary importance for the cell-adhesion properties of cadherins at adherens junctions, although the nature of the actin linkage is dynamic and still debated. The homodimeric form may regulate actin filament assembly and inhibit branching by competing with the Arp2/3 complex. CTNNa1 also influences nuclear accumulation of YAP1, TAZ and SMAD2/3 and may be crucial in cell differentiation. Germline truncating mutations have been found in hereditary diffuse gastric cancer, and other variants cause macular dystrophy.
