Human CTPS1 (CTP synthase 1) ELISA

CTPS1 (CTP Synthase 1) is a mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of 3-phosphoglycerate to 2-phosphoglycerate in the glycolysis pathway. The gene encoding for CTPS1 is located on chromosome 10 and is composed of 9 exons that generate two alternatively spliced mRNAs. CTPS1 participates in the regulation of energy metabolism and has been shown to be necessary for tumor cell proliferation. A deficiency in CTPS1 activity results in a decrease in tumor cell proliferation and an increase in apoptosis. Mutations in the CTPS1 gene have been associated with Glycogen storage disease III, a disorder characterized by the accumulation of glycogen in the liver and other tissues.
