Human CYP2C18 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Arg26-Val490, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 55.3 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Hydroxylates all trans-retinoic acid (atRA) to 4-hydroxyretinoate and may modulate atRA signaling and clearance. Mechanistically, uses molecular oxygen inserting one oxygen atom into a substrate, and reducing the second into a water molecule, with two electrons provided by NADPH via cytochrome P450 reductase (CPR; NADPH-ferrihemoprotein reductase).
