Description
Human CYP2D6 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human CYP2D6 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Leu236-Gln472, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 29.15 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) is a ~55 kDa protein. A cytochrome P450 monooxygenase involved in the metabolism of fatty acids, steroids and retinoids. For research use only.
Mechanistically, uses molecular oxygen inserting one oxygen atom into a substrate, and reducing the second into a water molecule, with two electrons provided by NADPH via cytochrome P450 reductase (NADPH--hemoprotein reductase). Catalyzes the epoxidation of double bonds of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). Metabolizes endocannabinoid arachidonoylethanolamide (anandamide) to 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid ethanolamide (20-HETE-EA) and 8,9-, 11,12-, and 14,15-epoxyeicosatrienoic acid ethanolamides (EpETrE-EAs), potentially modulating endocannabinoid system signaling. Catalyzes the hydroxylation of carbon-hydrogen bonds.
