Description
Human DDX6 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human DDX6 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu97-Pro483, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 46.49 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Probable ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX6 is a ~54 kDa protein. Essential for the formation of P-bodies, cytosolic membrane-less ribonucleoprotein granules involved in RNA metabolism through the coordinated storage of mRNAs encoding regulatory functions. For research use only.
Plays a role in P-bodies to coordinate the storage of translationally inactive mRNAs in the cytoplasm and prevent their degradation. In the process of mRNA degradation, plays a role in mRNA decapping. Blocks autophagy in nutrient-rich conditions by repressing the expression of ATG-related genes through degradation of their transcripts.
