Human DLST/OGDC-E2 Recombinant Protein (C-Strep)

Human DLST/OGDC-E2 Recombinant Protein (C-Strep) is a recombinant protein expressed in insect cells, spanning Asp68-Leu453, with a C-terminal Strep tag. Predicted molecular weight: 42.70 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Dihydrolipoyllysine-residue succinyltransferase component of 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex, mitochondrial (DLST/OGDC-E2) is a ~48 kDa protein. Dihydrolipoamide succinyltransferase (E2) component of the 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex. For research use only.

The 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex catalyzes the overall conversion of 2-oxoglutarate to succinyl-CoA and CO(2). The 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex is mainly active in the mitochondrion. A fraction of the 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex also localizes in the nucleus and is required for lysine succinylation of histones: associates with KAT2A on chromatin and provides succinyl-CoA to histone succinyltransferase KAT2A.
