Description
Human DNMT1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human DNMT1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Arg730-Ile907, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 22.56 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1) is a ~183 kDa protein. DNA methyltransferase that methylates CpG residues. For research use only.
Preferentially methylates hemimethylated DNA. Associates with DNA replication sites in S phase maintaining the methylation pattern in the newly synthesized strand, that is essential for epigenetic inheritance. Associates with chromatin during G2 and M phases to maintain DNA methylation independently of replication. It is responsible for maintaining methylation patterns established in development.
