Description
Human DNMT3A Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human DNMT3A Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala628-Val912, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 34.96 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 3A (DNMT3A) is a ~101 kDa protein. Required for genome-wide de novo methylation and is essential for the establishment of DNA methylation patterns during development. For research use only.
DNA methylation is coordinated with methylation of histones. It modifies DNA in a non-processive manner and also methylates non-CpG sites. May preferentially methylate DNA linker between 2 nucleosomal cores and is inhibited by histone H1. Plays a role in paternal and maternal imprinting.
