Description
Human DPEP3 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human DPEP3 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu196-Cys488, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 34.67 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Dipeptidase 3 (DPEP3) is a ~53 kDa protein. Lacks dipeptidase activity and is unable to hydrolyze cystinyl-bis-glycine, leukotriene D4 and the beta-lactam antibiotic imipenem. For research use only.
The absence of activity may be due to the inability of asparagine (instead of aspartate found in DPEP1/2) at position 359 to function as the acid/base catalyst and activate the nucleophilic water/hydroxide. A tyrosine (instead of histidine) at position 269 reduces affinity for the beta zinc and may cause substrate steric hindrance.
