Description

Human DPP3 ELISA Kit

Human DPP3 ELISA kits are used to detect Dipeptidyl peptidase 3 (DPP3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, saliva and other biological samples. DPP3, dipeptidyl peptidase 3, also called enkephalinase B, is a zinc-dependent metallopeptidase found mainly in the cytoplasm of cells in tissues such as the brain, lung, kidney and red blood cells. It cleaves dipeptides from the N-terminus of bioactive peptides, degrading angiotensin, Leu-enkephalin and Met-enkephalin, and so it influences blood pressure regulation and pain signaling. DPP3 is also reported to interact with the KEAP1-NRF2 pathway, linking it to the cellular response to oxidative stress. When cells are damaged, DPP3 can be released into the circulation, and elevated plasma levels have been associated with cardiogenic shock, sepsis and organ failure, where excess activity may degrade angiotensin II and contribute to circulatory failure.
