Description

Human DPP4 ELISA Kit

Human DPP4 ELISA kits are used to detect Dipeptidyl Peptidase IV (DPP4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. DPP4, or dipeptidyl peptidase IV (CD26), is a cell surface serine protease that removes N-terminal dipeptides from peptides with proline or alanine in the second position. It is expressed on epithelial cells of the kidney, intestine and liver and on endothelial cells and T cells, and a soluble form circulates in blood. As a receptor-like glycoprotein it is involved in the costimulatory signal essential for T cell receptor-mediated T cell activation, acting as a positive regulator through binding partners that include adenosine deaminase, caveolin-1, IGF2R and CD45. DPP4 also rapidly inactivates the incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP, as well as some chemokines, so it influences glucose control, and DPP4 inhibitors are used to treat type 2 diabetes.
