Human DSC1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala486-Asn686, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 25.08 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Desmocollin-1 (DSC1) is a ~99 kDa protein. A component of desmosome cell-cell junctions which are required for positive regulation of cellular adhesion. For research use only.
Required for desmosome adhesion strength between the granular layers of the epidermis, as a result moderates epidermal proliferation and differentiation. Is therefore required to maintain postnatal epidermal barrier function and normal hair follicle morphology into adulthood.
