Description
Human DST/Dystonin Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human DST/Dystonin Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Lys580-Glu803, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 28.97 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Dystonin (DST) is a ~860 kDa protein. Cytoskeletal linker protein. For research use only.
Acts as an integrator of intermediate filaments, actin and microtubule cytoskeleton networks. Required for anchoring either intermediate filaments to the actin cytoskeleton in neural and muscle cells or keratin-containing intermediate filaments to hemidesmosomes in epithelial cells. The proteins may self-aggregate to form filaments or a two-dimensional mesh. Regulates the organization and stability of the microtubule network of sensory neurons to allow axonal transport.
