Description

Human DUSP9 ELISA Kit

Human DUSP9 ELISA kits are used to detect Dual Specificity Phosphatase 9 (DUSP9) in tissue homogenates and other biological samples. DUSP9, also called MAP kinase phosphatase 4 (MKP-4), is a dual specificity phosphatase that inactivates mitogen-activated protein kinases, with a preference for the ERK family, by removing phosphate from both threonine and tyrosine residues in their activation loop. It is expressed particularly in the kidney, liver and placenta and is thought to be important for placental development. By limiting ERK activity, DUSP9 acts as a negative feedback regulator of growth factor signalling and helps control proliferation, differentiation and stress responses. Altered DUSP9 expression has been reported in cancers and in metabolic conditions such as insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes, so DUSP9 is studied as a regulator of MAPK signalling.
