Description
Human EDEM1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human EDEM1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Gln125-Asp587, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 54.72 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. ER degradation-enhancing alpha-mannosidase-like protein 1 is a ~73 kDa protein. Extracts misfolded glycoproteins, but not glycoproteins undergoing productive folding, from the calnexin cycle. For research use only.
It is directly involved in endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) and targets misfolded glycoproteins for degradation in an N-glycan-independent manner, probably by forming a complex with SEL1L. It has low mannosidase activity, catalyzing mannose trimming from Man8GlcNAc2 to Man7GlcNAc2.
