Description

Human EPHA3 ELISA Kit

Human EPHA3 ELISA kits are used to detect Ephrin Type A Receptor 3 (EPHA3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. EPHA3 is a receptor tyrosine kinase of the Eph family that binds membrane-anchored ephrin-A ligands on neighbouring cells, with a preference for EFNA5. Binding triggers contact-dependent bidirectional signalling, with forward signalling in the receptor-bearing cell and reverse signalling in the ligand-bearing cell. EPHA3 regulates cell adhesion, cytoskeletal organisation and cell migration, and is important in embryonic tissue patterning, neural development and cardiac formation. It is frequently altered in cancer. Somatic mutations in EPHA3 have been reported in colorectal cancer and other tumours, and both tumour-suppressive and tumour-promoting roles have been described, depending on context, so EPHA3 is studied as a therapeutic and diagnostic target.
