Description

Human ERG ELISA Kit

Human ERG ELISA kits are used to detect Transcriptional regulator ERG (ERG) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, saliva and other biological samples. ERG is an ETS family transcription factor expressed notably in endothelial cells, where it helps maintain vascular development and integrity, and also in haematopoietic stem cells and developing cartilage. It acts as a transcriptional regulator and may recruit the histone methyltransferase SETDB1 to modify local chromatin. Chromosomal rearrangements involving ERG are found in cancer. The EWSR1-ERG fusion occurs in a minority of Ewing sarcoma cases, and fusions with the androgen-regulated TMPRSS2 gene, which place ERG under androgen control, are present in a large proportion of prostate cancers. Overexpression of ERG has also been reported in some leukaemias, so it is studied as a diagnostic marker of endothelial lineage tumours and as a driver of malignancy.
