Description
Human FABP2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human FABP2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Asp132, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 17.37 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Fatty acid-binding protein, intestinal (FABP2) is a ~15 kDa protein. FABPs are thought to play a role in the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and their acyl-CoA esters. For research use only.
FABP2 is probably involved in triglyceride-rich lipoprotein synthesis. Binds saturated long-chain fatty acids with a high affinity, but binds with a lower affinity to unsaturated long-chain fatty acids. FABP2 may also help maintain energy homeostasis by functioning as a lipid sensor.
