Description
Human FGF1 Recombinant Protein
Human FGF1 Recombinant Protein is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Asp155. Predicted molecular weight: 17.46 kDa. Purity: >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Fibroblast growth factor 1 (FGF1/aFGF) is a ~17 kDa protein. Plays an important role in the regulation of cell survival, cell division, angiogenesis, cell differentiation and cell migration. For research use only.
Functions as a potent mitogen in vitro. Acts as a ligand for FGFR1 and integrins. Binds to FGFR1 in the presence of heparin leading to FGFR1 dimerization and activation via sequential autophosphorylation on tyrosine residues which act as docking sites for interacting proteins, leading to the activation of several signaling cascades. Binds to integrin ITGAV:ITGB3.
